چکیده

Abstract Lignocellulosic biomass is a renewable source containing three main components: cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin. The components can be processed into products that have high added value. Sources of lignocellulosic includes wood, grass, industrial waste, agricultural residu. Compared to other source, wastes higher potential utilized without competition for needs assist industry in waste treatment. production sugar palm starch generate which disposed the environment disturbs surrounding community not utilized. To utilize biomass, pretreatment very important step. Hydrothermal an environmentally friendly pretreatment, using harmful chemicals process. purpose this study was determine level solubility hemicellulose hydrothermal process waste. method used liquid hot water with temperature time parameters, optimization analysis response surface methodology (RSM). result obtained effective dissolving from relationship between variables on hemiselulosa modeled Y = 7.7-3.04 X 1 – 5.67X 2 + 0.4250 1.06 3.61 . results showed optimum at 195.91°C 36.725 minutes, dissolution 81.59% desirability 0.852.

Deep Eutectic Solvents pretreatment of agro-industrial food waste

Background Waste biomass from agro-food industries are a reliable and readily exploitable resource. From the circular economy point of view, direct residues from these industries exploited for production of fuel/chemicals is a winning issue, because it reduces the environmental/cost impact and improves the eco-sustainability of productions. Results The present paper reports recent results of ...

Effects of sugarcane, palm sugar, coconut sugar and sorbitol on starch digestibility and physicochemical properties of wheat based foods

Wheat flours mixed with four types of sweeteners; sugarcane, palm sugar, coconut sugar and sorbitol were evaluated for their in vitro starch digestibility, estimated glycemic index (GI) and physicochemical properties. It was found that sorbitol which is a sugar alcohol gave the best starch digestibility results providing the lowest estimated GI values. Palm and coconut sugars provided better st...

Functional relationship of furfural yields and the hemicellulose-derived sugars in the hydrolysates from corncob by microwave-assisted hydrothermal pretreatment

BACKGROUND Corncob as one of the most suitable feedstock for the production of a variety of high-value-added chemicals is receiving increasing attention worldwide because of the characteristics of high carbohydrate (cellulose and hemicelluloses) contents and high energy densities. Furfural produced from hemicelluloses is a highly versatile and key feedstock used in the manufacture of a wide ran...

Thermo-mechanical behaviors of thermoplastic starch derived from sugar palm tree (Arenga pinnata).

In recent years, increasing environmental concerns focused greater attention on the development of biodegradable materials. A thermoplastic starch derived from bioresources, sugar palm tree was successfully developed in the presence of biodegradable glycerol as a plasticizer. Sugar palm starch (SPS) was added with 15-40 w/w% of glycerol to prepare workable bioplastics and coded as SPS/G15, SPS/...

Pretreatment optimization methods for increased sugar yields from biomass pyrolysis

In the search for a renewable energy source that could replace petroleum and other nonrenewable energy sources, pyrolysis of biomass is a hopeful alternative and pretreatment could further improve its potential. There are several possible routes for pretreating lignocellulosic biomass, but many need further refining before becoming economical. The main obstacle for the conversion of biomass to ...
